King Room
Birch, pale wood, a window seat long enough to use, and curtains thick enough for a city that darkens at three. Faces the courtyard, so it stays quiet.
The building holds the whole evening. A hundred and sixty-four rooms above a casino that does not close, three dining rooms, and a sauna on the level you sleep on. Nothing to arrange, and nothing to drive.
The light goes early here, and the idea has always been the same: a hotel should not feel like an interior. Tall windows, warm lamps, and a bar that runs to two. The game floor, the spa and dinner are all downstairs, and after that nobody has to get in a car.
Three categories, all finished to the same standard. The difference is the view, and the sauna you have outside the door.
Birch, pale wood, a window seat long enough to use, and curtains thick enough for a city that darkens at three. Faces the courtyard, so it stays quiet.
Two aspects, a long desk, a separate sitting room, and a sauna off the bedroom. In summer the balcony does the rest.
Six suites on the top floor, corner windows on three sides, a private sauna and a bar of its own.
Ten tables, open around the clock. Anyone who has not played before will be walked through a game before putting money down. The lounge above stays open to guests who would rather watch. Tables are operated by Veikkaus, and the lounge is ours.
Dinner at six, breakfast until noon, a bar until two. All on the ground floor.
Short seasonal menus from Finnish kitchens, written plainly: reindeer, lake fish, cloudberries, and a bread list that changes weekly.
Copper, dark timber, and a short list of Finnish spirits. Warm rather than formal.
Breakfast through to a late supper, with table service in the winter garden.
From November to March the calendar is at its fullest, which is when this city is at its best.
A trio, Finnish folk and jazz, played quietly in a warm room.
One seating, one menu, one table by the fire. Twelve guests.
Six Finnish whiskies, or six single-origin coffees.
Our resident holds the Kupari until close on a Friday and a Saturday.
Warm rooms, working saunas, and a concierge who answers at two in the morning.
Someone on the desk at three in the morning.
One on every floor, not one at the end of a corridor. Free for guests.
A heated pool under a glass roof, open late, with towels and a view of the dark.
Weights, cardio and a studio. Open around the clock.
Two rooms. Dinner, birthday, or the meeting that becomes a dinner.
Finnish glass, textiles and books. A grocer downstairs and a bakery that opens first.
Two treatment rooms, a thermal suite built the Finnish way, and therapists who deal with the specific thing that hurts rather than the thing on the menu. Open from seven.
Table games in Finland are operated by Veikkaus under its statutory monopoly, under the Lotteries Act today and under the Gambling Act in full effect from 1 July 2027. The floor is open to people aged 18 and over. Every guest is identified before entry and a 30-year reference age applies, so expect to show identification whether or not you look it. Nobody under 18 may play or be admitted, nor may anyone evidently affected by alcohol. Deposit limits, play-time limits and self-exclusion are set on the Veikkaus player account, and our staff will apply them on request. Support: Peluuri, 0800 0 1234.
The restaurants and bar are open to the public, and the game floor to anyone 18 or over who can identify themselves, subject to capacity. Staying here makes the evening simpler.
It is standard practice in Finland and across the Nordic market: we check identification from anyone who appears to be under 30, because appearance alone is not reliable. The legal minimum is 18, and it is absolute.
Deposit limits, play-time limits and self-exclusion are all set on the Veikkaus player account. Tell any member of our staff and it is arranged immediately, without discussion. Take the option if you are unsure, and particularly if you are chasing a loss.
None enforced. The Kupari asks for something smart on a busy night; nobody is turned away for a sweatshirt.
The concierge will set a private dining room, arrange a cake, and reserve one of the six Aurora Suites for groups.
